Micromount collection „Sauerland rarities“ 350 pieces

This is an exclusive micromount collection from the Sauerland region of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, assembled in the 1990s.

It features many exceptionally rare specimens from localities that were only temporarily accessible, including sites opened up during highway construction.

The collection includes numerous highly unusual black minerals associated with million-year-old fossil fungi, making it scientifically and visually remarkable. Each specimen which is mounted on a distinctive yellow-brown matrix is an rare fossilized mycel in Quartz piece, and many showing small quartz crystals growing on top.

 More than 15 pieces in the collection represent this same extraordinary habit, creating a highly coherent and rare suite.

Every specimen is carefully labeled with its locality and has been analyzed, and the original boxes are included.
