An extraordinary Alpine Fluorite whose fascinating crystal architecture and enchanting colour composition beautifully reflect the mineralogical splendour of the legendary Weißeck Summit Cleft.
This remarkable specimen captivates with its elegant, almost weightless crystal formation and a particularly attractive interplay of delicate icy blue, intense bluish violet and subtle turquoise-green hues.
Its most striking feature is the exceptionally pronounced parqueted crystal growth. Numerous parallel, finely stepped growth structures extend across the crystal surfaces, creating an intricate geometric pattern. The partially terraced and overlapping crystal areas lend the Fluorite remarkable three-dimensional depth and an almost architectural appearance.
Another outstanding feature is its beautiful colour distribution. While certain areas display cool, almost luminous icy-blue tones, others reveal magnificent violet zones that gradually merge into one another. When illuminated from behind, the specimen reveals attractive translucency and a fascinating interplay of its different colour nuances.
The pronounced growth structures and intricate surface textures give this Fluorite a truly distinctive character. Changing the illumination or viewing angle reveals ever-new details, beautifully emphasising the specimen’s natural elegance.
The Legendary Weißeck Summit Cleft
High above Austria’s Lungau region, at approximately 2,670 metres above sea level, lies the famous Summit Cleft of Weißeck, a mountain rising to 2,711 metres. This difficult-to-access Alpine locality is among the most fascinating Fluorite occurrences in the Austrian Alps.
The complex geological development of this cleft has produced extraordinary crystal formations, including multi-stage growth structures, attractive colour zoning and characteristic parqueted crystal faces. Its celebrated icy-blue and violet Fluorites are particularly appreciated by collectors of Alpine minerals.
An exceptionally aesthetic and distinctive collector’s specimen, distinguished by its remarkable surface architecture, harmonious colour composition and prestigious Alpine provenance. A wonderful addition to any sophisticated mineral collection and an especially appealing piece for enthusiasts of unusual Fluorite crystals!
In traditional crystal healing, Fluorite is associated with mental clarity, concentration and inner harmony. Blue Fluorite symbolises tranquillity and clear communication, while violet Fluorite is traditionally connected with intuition, inspiration and spiritual development.
