Rhodonit/e (TL) & Rhodochrosit/e - Schävenholz, Harz Mts

🇩🇪In den 1980er Jahren wurde an der berühmten Rhodonitfundstelle zu Zwecken der Schmuckherstellung an einer besonders vielversprechenden Stelle ein senkrechter Schacht nach oben getrieben um möglichst schnell möglichst viel Rhodonit und Rhodochrosit zu Schmuck ausbeuten, verarbeiten und in Devisen umwandeln zu können.

Aus dieser Ausbeute ein schönes qualitativ wertvolles Sample mit Rhodonit (eher beige-bräunlich) und Rhodochrosit (rosafarben) in hellbeigem Sarder. Schwarz ist hierbei Lithiophorit. Schävenholz ist die Typlokalität für Rhodonit.

🇺🇸 In the 1980s, a vertical shaft was dug up at a particularly promising location at the famous rhodonite site for the purpose of making jewelry, in order to be able to exploit as much rhodonite and rhodochrosite as possible to make jewelry, process it and convert it into foreign currency as quickly as possible.

From this yield, a beautiful, high-quality sample with rhodonite (more beige-brownish) and rhodochrosite (pink) in tan-colored sarder. The black parts is lithiophorite.

Schävenholz is the type locality of Rhodonite!
