Here we see a richly crystallized assemblage of galena crystals in a variety of well-developed forms. A true classic from the Harz mining district, originating from the Wiemannsbucht Mine in Bad Grund, Germany. The lustrous lead-gray galena crystals are attractively perched on a sparkling carpet of quartz, providing excellent contrast. Along one side of the specimen, minor siderite is present, adding further mineralogical interest and underscoring the typical paragenesis of this renowned locality.
