We have a very special specimen with several generations of calcite crystals and calcites in different colors, especially under UV light.
The middle layer — the matrix on which the crystals are sitting — glows red under UV, while the calcite crystals on top fluoresce a rich yellow. On these small, beautiful rhombohedral crystals, there are also very delicate tiny calcite crystals of yet another generation.
It is one of the most beautiful calcite specimens from Freiberg I have seen in a long time.
