An exceptionally appealing Alpine Fluorite from the celebrated Summit Cleft of Weißeck, displaying a captivating palette of delicate pastel colours and an intricate crystal architecture that beautifully reflects the distinctive character of this renowned high-altitude locality.

Delicate icy blue gradually merges into luminous turquoise and aquamarine shades, while beautiful lavender-blue to violet hues appear along the crystal edges. Depending on the angle of illumination, the specimen reveals remarkable luminosity, with its translucent crystal sections appearing almost internally illuminated.

The crystal surfaces display an impressive variety of growth features. Delicately stepped and partially parquet-like surfaces create an intricate relief of geometric patterns, reflecting light in countless directions. Especially intriguing are the locally visible right-angled growth structures, reflecting Fluorite’s characteristic cubic crystal symmetry.

The varying degrees of transparency further enhance the specimen’s visual appeal. The famous Gipfelkluft, or Summit Cleft, lies at approximately 2,670 metres above sea level, immediately below the 2,711-metre summit of Weißeck in Austria’s Radstädter Tauern mountains. Fluorites from this celebrated Alpine locality have fascinated discerning collectors for decades with their extraordinary colour zoning, complex growth habits and distinctive, often multiply overgrown crystal surfaces.
